LEE PERLINGER
Lee’s collection of work combines clean lines and graphic definition to create pieces with a strong sense of intention. Her practice revolves around the search for harmony in design and the beauty in purity of form. With the elimination of ornate elements, the form of the piece becomes the focus and it’s this simplicity that creates balance and cohesion.
Lee uses a variety of techniques in her work, including traditional hand fabricating, lost wax casting and digital modelling. The design of a piece drives the process; she chooses materials and techniques that will best serve the idea and aesthetic vision.
With 20 years of experience in graphic communications, Lee places a strong emphasis on the design process, from a basic sketch to a refined idea then created into form. Lee recently made the transition to Jewellery Design, completing her Certificate II in Engineering at Melbourne Polytechnic and currently completing her final year in the Advanced Diploma in Jewellery & Object Design at Melbourne Polytechnic.
